From Marco Biagi – the founder of our Association – we inherited a new approach to academic research that we further developed over the years, focusing in particular on the practical dimension of theoretical knowledge. Our cultural project is nicely expressed by the slogan Building the Future of Work Together that requires a new approach to academic research through the practical implementation of theoretical learning and extensive field work. This is particularly important with reference to the economic and social challenges posed by radical changes within the labour market. In this connection, Adapt developed a number of projects in the field of school-to-work transition, contributing to designing highly qualified training courses with our partner schools and universities, including apprenticeship schemes for higher education with a view to responding to the present and future professional needs of our country. The Astino project will give rise to a cultural process that can effectively contribute – by forming a sense of community – to a better integration between education and training systems and labour market. Thanks to the agreement concluded by the town Bergamo and the Mia Foundation (which owns the Monastery), we will have the opportunity to attract new resources and talented youth from all over the world with a view to contributing to the ambitious project of developing our labour relations and training systems.
